Continuing Medical Education/Professional Development

Te Tai Tokerau PHO Workforce Education Group

The Te Tai Tokerau PHO Workforce Education Group provides professional development to registered health professionals within the Te Tai Tokerau area: general practitioners, nurses and allied health excluding Manaia PHO and the NDHB employees.

We ensure that our locums are included in all our peer support events and education programmes.  These opportunities encourage relationship building, information sharing and establishing inclusive linkages between visiting locums and GPs/practice nurses within the region.

Continuing medical education (CME/CNE/CAE)

As an accredited provider of Continuing Medical Education (CME), our locums and general practice teams enjoy FREE access to our extensive range of accredited CME programmes, provided on a regular basis and accessible across Northland.

Not only can our locums maintain their education points, they can also develop solid working relationships outside their own practice.

  • Those GPs who are members of the RNZGP College can add their credits themselves after attendance at an event run by the PHO.
  • Electronic certificates will be sent by email after the event in a PDF format. You will be able to save it to your computer or print it off.
  • A record of learning can be requested which will show the event, points and attendance.

Equally, our practice nurse locums access relevant professional development through our Nursing Council of New Zealand recognised programmes (PDRPs).
